15.11.2008 2 wins and 3 losses: we just miss the quarterfinals of the Masters
After a close win (in the extra end) against Team Koe and a second more decisive win against Team Simmons we lost 3 games in a row.
Against Team Gushue, we lost a close game with the last stone. This despite having trailed 0:3, and then drawing even again in the 7th end.
The game against Team Stoughton took a similar course. After falling behind 0:3, we leveled the score by the 7th end. In the last end, Stoughton won the game with a perfect draw.
In the 5th game, it was all or nothing. The good draw-games of both teams (4.4 cm) meant, that the winner of the match would qualify (without tiebreak) for the quarterfinal. The game was very close. Team Carruthers’ last stone was an excellent draw for 2 points, thus ensuring our premature elimination.
Unfortunately we missed our objective – the quarterfinal. Nevertheless we can look back on a good tournament, played at a high level. Moncton and Waterloo were definitive worth the trip.
We thank all supporters at home for their encouragement.

13.11.2008 Arrival in Waterloo
me. After two days of the big city, we arrived in Waterloo today. First we headed to the arena, where we were given a warm welcome and had the opportunity to train.
As always at the Maters, the ice is incredibly well done. It has a very strong curl and wonderful weight.
This evening, we start the tournament with an opening game agains Team Koe.
We have uploaded some new photos to our photoalbum.
