Out in the C Final
Our underlying aim in the Perth Masters 2010 was the integration of our reserve player for the Olympics: Toni Mueller
Toni played in all positions and clearly proved that we will be taking with us to Vancouver a sportsman with immense versatility: one who really plays from strength in every position. In Perth we competed in seven matches between Thursday evening and midnight on Saturday. We emerged victorious in four of these (two of them were against teams we will come up against in Vancouver: Denmark and China) but the third defeat in the C Final against the crew skipped by Peter Loudon meant 'out' for us.
The Winter Olympics in Vancouver begin in just over one month's time.
Last week our team was officially selected by Swiss Olympic. The next highlight comes on 21st January when we will be presented with our official Olympics outfits. Then we will compete in the third qualifying round of the NLA in Bern before flying on 3rd February to Morris (Winnipeg, Canada) to settle into our training camp. On 11th February we move on to the athletes' village in Vancouver. The first match against Denmark is scheduled to commence at 9.00 am local time on 16th February.
